Legal Credit Repair Methods

To better understand what legal credit repair is, it would be helpful to understand a few types of illegal credit repair:

Illegal: Changing your social security number to obtain a clean bill of credit.
If any company should suggest this type of credit repair, report them to the authorities.

Illegal: Disputing every item on your credit report, regardless of nature.
The Fair Credit Reporting Act specifically states that only items that are unverifiable, inaccurate or misleading should be disputed. Items that are clearly yours, and reflect your credit history should not be disputed.

Illegal: Charging for services that have not yet been completed.
This is to protect the consumer from fraudulent companies that charge for services that never get completed (charging to "repair your credit", then hitting the road...)

So, what exactly is Legal Credit Repair?

Legal Credit Repair consists of removing the negative items on a credit report. There are a few different methods of going about this, the most common and effective are:

"Goodwill" Negotiation Negotiating directly with creditors and asking them to "please" remove negative items from your credit reports is a viable method of credit repair for mild late-pay accounts. There are no laws that require that negative items stay on your reports for any amount of time, and creditors have the ability to simply remove these items if they see that it could somehow work to their benefit, even if that simply means a pleased customer.

Credit Disputation The Fair Credit Reporting Act gives you the right to contact credit bureaus directly and dispute items on your credit reports. Just as in a court of law, you have the right to plead "not guilty" to negative information on your credit reports, and leave the burden of proof to the credit bureaus. You can dispute any and all items on your credit reports that you feel classify as inaccurate, unverifiable, or misleading. If the bureaus can not verify that the information on your reports is indeed correct, then those items must be deleted. Learn More.

The three main credit bureaus are: TransUnion, Experian and Equifax. Lenders judge your credit worthiness using the FICO scoring system. Your FICO score is calculate with information from these credit bureaus by using the amount you owe on non-mortgage-related accounts such as credit cards, your payment history, and your credit history. The FICO score ranges from 300 to 850. The higher your FICO score, the lower your interest rate will be. Since it’s possible the information from the credit bureaus is inaccurate, it is very important you check your credit report on a regular basis. Since a high FICO score can save you thousands of dollars on your home mortgage or car loan, it is very important that you repair your credit immediately if your FICO score is below 680.

The Las Vegas Strip (also known commonly as The Strip) is a 4-mile section of Las Vegas Boulevard South that is perhaps the most renowned district of Las Vegas and sees excesses of 38 million visitors in a given year. Along with touting an annual 11 billion dollar gaming revenue the area is also known for being one of the few places in the US where possession and consumption of open containers of alcoholic beverages are allowed year-round, just so long as your not in a vehicle. Many of the largest hotel, casino and resort properties in the world are located on The Strip, and include such famous casino names as: Tropicana, Excalibur, Boardwalk, Bellagio, Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, Luxor, Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, Paris Las Vegas and New York-New York. These are just a glimpse of what you can find on the South end of the famous Las Vegas Strip, but have no fear there is still North and middle sections if you haven’t found the one you like. Looking for a short break In between rounds of blackjack and roulette, Las Vegas has hundreds of other entertainment venues where the returns might not be as high but they are guaranteed. Take for instance the shark reef at Mandalay bay hotel, the light and water show at the front of the Bellagio, or the Manhattan Express Rollercoaster at New York/New York Hotel, you can go rock climbing at Gameworks, a huge arcade right in the showcase shopping area adjacent to the MGM Grand. Theme parks more your style? Try Adventuredome at Circus Circus Hotel, or The Stratosphere Tower, with the tallest rollercoaster in the world. If your looking for something free to do check out the Fremont Street Experience in Downtown Las Vegas. The music is loud and the lights dance above your head. It is an experience. Shows begin at 8:30. Easily the best free Las Vegas attraction. If none of that was to your liking Las Vegas is just as famous for its adult entertainment as it is for its gambling, the entertainment capital of the world isn’t just called Sin City for nothing.

The American Southwest is unlike any other region in the world. Its terrain, wildlife, culture, and history, are one-of-a-kind and are closely allied to the people who originally lived there, the Native Americans, and the settlers that came to the area over the past few centuries. Like other states in the region, Nevada has lush, high-elevation mountain ranges; large valleys; and arid desert plains, such as the Mojave Desert, part of Nevada’s Great Basin. Though its capital is Carson City, Nevada is most famous for another city, Las Vegas! People travel from all around the globe to experience the glitz, the glamour, the food, the biggest luxury hotel and casinos in the world, and of course, the gambling, the state’s primary source of revenue. Here you’ll find impressive live shows with well known celebrities and musicians; unparalleled nightlife in clubs, lounges, and bars of all types; amusement and water park rides for families; shopping and dining for all price ranges; architecture celebrating the diversity of many different countries, and visual attractions of all kinds. Vegas aside, there’s also Lake Tahoe, famous for its high mountain peaks overlooking the picturesque lake, which is particularly breathtaking in winter when skiing the white, powdery slopes while watching the sun sparkle on the lake below. Reno is another popular destination, as is the immense, awe-inspiring Hoover Dam, the tallest dam in North America. Aside from the manmade wonders, Nevada is also prime real estate for hiking, camping, mountain biking, climbing, boating and swimming on its many lakes, hot air ballooning, and other fun, outdoor sports.
